Donny Sterkeboer is the founder of Keynex.tech, an independent technology studio and platform established in 2026. The foundations were formed years earlier through NxRealm, founded in 2021 around servers and online communities. As that work expanded into software, automation, infrastructure and systems of its own, it became part of the foundation from which Keynex was created.

NxRealm was founded in 2021. What started with servers and communities quickly became an environment where administration, reliability, infrastructure and the systems surrounding the community had to be solved in practice.
As NxRealm expanded, dedicated and sponsored server environments created more room for experimentation and independent development. Automation became increasingly important, custom tooling began replacing repetitive processes and more components were brought together into systems built around real needs.
Around September 2022, the first internally developed bot platform began taking shape. Instead of relying exclusively on existing tools, NxRealm increasingly developed its own software, automation and infrastructure where greater control or flexibility was needed.
Development continued with Rako Studio, followed less than three months later by Trusted. These projects brought development, hosting, security and automation together and reinforced an approach in which individual components are treated as part of one complete environment.
NxRealm developed into an international operation supported by a team of at least six administrators across Europe. At its peak, the broader environment was involved with more than 83 servers, requiring reliability, administration, communication, automation and infrastructure to keep working together.
The work gradually expanded beyond NxRealm into external projects, larger platforms and technical environments where software, infrastructure, automation and operations had to function as one system. This period formed the bridge between the work that began within NxRealm and the broader direction that would become Keynex.
“When the standard solution isn’t enough, we build another way.”
DONNY STERKEBOER—FOUNDER, KEYNEX.TECH
The experience behind Keynex was never defined by one technology. It grew through situations where development, hosting, security, automation, infrastructure and operations increasingly depended on one another. That created a simple principle: the solution should follow the problem — not the other way around.
Keynex does not begin with a predetermined product, technology or stack. The first objective is to understand what needs to exist, how it will be used and what must work around it. When an existing solution fits, it can be used. When it does not, another approach is designed — and when that approach does not yet exist, it can be built.
